Let me Introduce Myself
My name is Gwen Richardson.
I was born in 1941, an only child. I'm married, with one daughter and two beautiful grandchildren. On reaching the age of 47, I discovered that my mother had given birth to another daughter in 1928. My search for my missing sister was the begining of Searchline
Since then, I have helped hundreds of people find their lost families.
My daughter Lesley joined the office in 2001 and we have worked very happily together.
Searchline continued to grow and at the beginning of 2005 we decided that we needed extra help so Lesley's husband, Shane joined us. He's here to keep us girls in order!
If you are an adoptee, we would be pleased to undertake the search for your birth family. We can advise on the documentation required to commence a search, and how to go about obtaining it. Please contact us by telephone or email if you need help. (See the contact page for more details)
Searchline has a success rate of 95%. Most cases are brought to completion within six months.
We are pleased to say that we do NOT work with either BBC or ITV or any other television service although we are always being asked to supply case histories for documentaries or magazine articles. We consider your search to be totally private and will never ever consider re-uniting families on live television.
