Comment: To all at searchline,

i would like to say the biggest thank you i have ever given to all who run this site. 2 years ago i left a note to find my half sister. i wrote on here a few times over the space of a year and would spend hours reading through the contact register to see if there was anything from my sister. but hadnt found anything. my sister was actually looking for my mum and came across this site where she found one of my messages. she then took my name from searchline and found out who mum had married to get my surname and searched me on facebook. from there she wrote to me. after seeing the message i called my mum, who never thought this day would come and asked her round for coffee. mum turned up with my dad and as i looked at her all i said is `i found her` and mum cried and i cried to seeing her looking so happy. 2 weeks later we met and 2 years later we are in regular contact and see each other whenever possible. i had my sister at my wedding and she will be in my life for when my 1st child arrives next month. all our lives are now complete and i cant thank search line enough for this. i love my sister and could not imagine not having her in my life going forward. we get on so well its like we have known each other our whole lives. to anyone who is still searching for that special someone, dont give up!! not all stories turn out as well as mine but dont give up. its better to keep trying and know if you should be in contact then to have never tried and always wondered. goodluck and stay strong x and thank you again searchline x

Subject: The longest journey starts with the first step!!
Comment: Yesterday my evening started with the words "Hello Katie this is your baby sister"!
Words I never dared hope to hear...spoken by my half sister and on behalf of my older half sister, who, unbeknown to 'Mum' had been searching for me independently.
48 hours before I had spoken to 'Mum', I had given my friend Niamh (who was the one - against all the odds of my listening and responding - who finally said, 'just do it!!!') permission to call my 'birth Mother' and ask if she would speak to me....
The only reason that these two moments had not coincided? 'Mum' was out for the night...
I am so blown away... this huge huge monster of a situation that has hung over me and wrapped round me and pervaded my very being, has, with two simple phone calls one to 'Mum' on Saturday night and one from my 'baby Sis' on Sunday night - changed the entire sense of myself - changed my energy and it would appear even - thinking about it now.... my sense of body weight!!
This is the start of a very long road... I am about to discover whether nature or nurture will win the day.. I feel very lucky to have the love and support of those around me.. and to have been loved and supported by my adopted family in my search - the telling of this tale and of our first contact now seems as enormous as ever it did, but travelling toward my adopted family - rather than journeying to find my birth family....
Lesley I know you spoke with Victoria, and it is you and your marvellous site that deserve the lions share of thanks... when I have rung distressed or asking for further information - you have been there straight away with what I needed. You found my family within weeks of me contacting you directly for help, and it was only because my own fears paralysed me; that from my first post in 2005 to today 25th July 2011 there has been a delay
I realise that I have been incredibly lucky in my search and this will not be everyone's story.
I am aware that the road less travelled is often the more difficult to traverse, but I feel that I am about to set out on an amazing journey with my fellow journeymen at my side.
So to my adopted family my love and thanks for guiding me to a point where the four of us 'Mum, Victoria' Sian and I can get to know and understand each other' in love and gratitude to the Universe and all those that had a hand in our meeting .... the longest journey starts with the first step xxxx

I am so grateful that this was made possible by you all, I never thought this could happen, I had just about given up hope.
The whole family - mine and hers - are so happy, it's like having a new baby - the feelings are so euphoric and I wish all who read this can feel the same in time.
Be patient, it happens when it is meant to.
Love and thanks to everyone who made this possible.

Comment: Dear Lesley and your dedicated family.

I'm writing this still with tears of joy at the recent reunion with my daughter. After 'coincidently' finding her message as a link to Searchline on the internet, I discovered her full message on your website.

Thank you for your attempts to contact her, Although she had changed her email address which you realistically warned me about and was not contactable I was able to continue the search knowing for the first time her adopted surname.

Well to cut a long story short, I write with the greatest pleasure and thanks to let you know that since 04/09/10 we have been wonderfully reunited, more than I could ever have asked or imagined.

I really thank God for the dedicated work you are doing, helping people so willingly to experience something almost impossible.

I hope Searchline will continue to be the signpost, support and essential 'life line' it has been to so many

With much appreciation, love, hope and blessings

Christine

Comment: I would like to start by giving a great big thank you to Shane and his wonderful wife for make any of this possible….. after 3o yrs they have reunited me with my birth father !! I tried for many years and also hired other agencies to find my birth father all with out success. I thought for sure I would never find him, but I did not want to give up, one night surfing the web for any clues advice ect.. I found the website for search line I had a strong feeling about them but because I had been let down in the past I was a little reluctant to call them. after giving it a little more thought, I promised my self that this would be the last time to try to find him as I could not keep putting my self though the heartache. I reside in America, so I thought for sure once the company knew this they would just string me along, but to me it was worth taking the chance because I needed closure when I called search line I spoke to Shane. he was very truth full from the beginning and told me that because the name was very poplar it would be like looking for a needle in a hay stack !! so needless to say I was not very hopeful, but after about six months I got the phone call I had been praying for (they found him) after I sent my birth father a letter he called me, some how by the grace of god when the phone rang I knew it was him as soon as I answered the phone I said “ I have been waiting for you to call: and in reply he said” I have been waiting to hear your voice for 30 yrs “ he told me that he remarried and that I have six siblings and that they wanted to talk to me as he told them years ago about me ect… for me to hear that it was like the icing on the cake. after talking on skype for a few weeks ,they came to America to visit me, we had a wonderful time. mashallah.

Comment: Lesley, my mum introduced me to my sister. OMG!!! I didn't think I had the capacity to love like this. She flew from London to Atlanta so we could spend a week together. I am so proud of her. Though we had different childhood experiences, today we have similar family values. We look alike and love each other's family. I still hope to meet my YOUNGER brother that still doesn't know about me. So there is still much to be worked on in terms of our family unity, but there is a real foundation with the relationships that I have with my mum, my sister, her four children, her husband, and her husband's family.

I plucked up the courage to phone my mother and spoke to her for the very first time in my life!! Three days and 150 miles later we met and I had the surprise of also meeting my newly gained two half-brothers.
